Personal Bios

Jonathan Davies, CISSP, CCSP, PCI-ISA, PCIP

SNCA Founder and President Jonathan Davies formed SNCA with a desire to encourage collaboration and information sharing between the many cybersecurity chapters within the Las Vegas Valley, while improving cybersecurity education for the community. Jonathan served in the UK military for almost 20 years in the field of intelligence, and is a decorated combat veteran. This explains his passion for helping active duty military, veterans and law enforcement officers pursue and achieve advanced cybersecurity certifications. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys the shooting sports and is an NRA Certified Instructor and Chief Range Safety Officer. He lives in Las Vegas with his wife Leigh, and their four dachshunds.

Shane Markley, CISM, CISSP, GCIH, C|EH, ITIL

Shane is a seasoned Information Security Management Professional with over 15 years of experience. He has a solid background in cyber security program development, strategic security planning, risk management, incident response, network and application security, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance. Shane is currently employed by Southwest Gas Corporation as a Sr. Security Analyst/Operations Team Lead.

Steve Bonilla, MBA, CISSP

Steve Bonilla is an IT Infrastructure, Security, and Compliance professional with 13 years of experience in IT and 10 years of experience in the casino gaming industry. Steve’s experience in IT comes from his history of various roles including Director of IT, Systems and Network Administrator, Adjunct IT Instructor, and IT Security Architect. Steve has worked for both major gaming test labs, a major slot machine supplier, and is currently employed by The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas as IT Security Architect. Steve is active with several associations including the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), InfraGard, ISACA, the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association, and Toastmasters International.

CORY MAZZOLA, MCSE, GIAC, GPEN, CISSP, C|CISO

Cory Mazzola is an accomplished security leader and operations executive with over twenty years of experience building global cyber security centers, managing enterprise risk management programs, and leading cross-functional teams.  He currently leads global cyber security operations for a Fortune 500 company and global hospitality organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In past roles, Cory has held leadership positions and subject matter expert roles with several global organizations and industry-leading companies including FireEye-Mandiant, Verizon Business, General Dynamics, Computer Sciences Corporation, IBM, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Amgen, University of Maryland and the Royal Bank of Canada.  He holds an M.S. In Information Assurance, B.S. in Information Systems Management and several industry certifications (e.g., GIAC/GPEN, CISSP, C|CISO, MCSE, etc.).

Cory is dedicated to the advancement of the cyber security field and industry as a whole.  He’s actively involved in several industry initiatives and professional organizations devoted to helping develop the next generation of cyber security professionals for industry, academia, government, finance, defense and other key sectors.

Kelli Beck

Kelli is a driven sales professional with over 15 years of experience building strategic relationships & selling enterprise software solutions to Gaming and Technology Executives across North America.  Kelli has leveraged a strong combination of leadership, risk management and consultative skills to achieve a trusted advisor position in many high profile and high value engagements.

HAYDEN WILLIAMS, M.S., M.Ed.

Hayden Williams has over 20 years of experience working in IT, with the past 11 years in the field of computer security for public, government, and corporate sectors. He currently works as a Senior Security Consultant for the Verizon RISK Team. In this role, he leads a team of computer security experts who respond and investigate cyber-related incidents, conduct security assessments, and provide guidance/training to improve an organization’s overall security posture. Prior to working for Verizon, Hayden was a Special Agent with the Department of Defense, where he investigated Cyber Crimes. Hayden holds various industry-level certifications as well as a M.Ed. in Leadership and most recently, M.S. in Digital Forensics. Finally, Hayden believes in the importance of lifelong learning, not only for himself, but for others. As a result, he has taught IT graduate courses for the State University of New York and continues to teach and speak at security conferences and through professional engagements.

MATT HEFF

Matt Heff has been proudly stopping cyber criminals since 1998 with career stops at General Electric, NBC Television, Caesars Entertainment, and most recently serving TJX, Inc (TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods). He holds a variety of college degrees and certs, and originally hails from the east coast.

In January 2016, Heff (his preferred named) joined Sands Corp as their Senior Manager of Global Cyber Security – responsible for training, awareness, and developing their world-class cyber security team. This includes the Venetian and Palazzo Resorts in Las Vegas, in addition to properties globally from Macau to Singapore and Pennsylvania. He trains, coaches, mentors and coordinates development for a variety of Sands Global Cyber Security professionals including Cyber Security Operations teams, Digital Forensics Investigation teams, Cyber Strategy teams, Governance & Risk teams, Vulnerability Management & Penetration Testing teams, and Incident Response and Threat Intelligence teams. In addition, he develops and promotes cyber security awareness globally for 60,000+ team members worldwide.

Career highlights include successfully responding to the 45.7 million credit and debit card compromise while employed at TJX, Inc. He serves UNLV as a Cyber Security Committee Member as part of their UNLV School of Engineering efforts to introduce Cyber Security Bachelor degrees curriculum to the UNLV School of Computer Science. In addition, Heff supports and guides CSN as a representative and advisor for their Cyber Security Team, advising curriculum for Cyber Security Associate Degree. He also supports and serves the Clark County School District (CCSD) in their efforts to expand and introduce CyberPatriot Clubs, industry mentors, cyber technical coaches and cyber security curriculum into CCSD High School and Middle Schools. His proudest accomplishment is his family, wife Karen, mischievous toddler Klary and Baby Ryker (a huge fan of Star Trek)

Heff has spoken at a variety of conferences and events including the Department of Homeland Security Corporate Security Symposium, speaking on Counter intelligence – Insider Threats in December 2016. In January 2017, Heff spoke at the Winter ICT Conference in San Jose on building partnerships between Industry and Academia to create ‘Experiential Layer’ experiences to help students become ‘Combat Ready’.  He is scheduled to speak at the Camp IT Conference on Enterprise Risk/Security Management in April 2017. Most recently, Heff was invited to provide the keynote at the 21st Colloquium For Information Systems Security Education in May 2017.
